Brunch. It’s everyone’s (well it’s my) favorite topic. Obviously, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But on Sunday (when chick fil a is closed and you feel like you’ve been run over by a train) you may not wake up early enough to nourish your body. That’s why brunch was invented (or it was invented for people who get out of church around noon… I’m sticking with the first one though). Today, I was lucky enough to be invited to a friends birthday brunch. Why everyone doesn’t birthday brunch is beyond me.. It just flows so well. Anyway, we hit up a local hot spot, 5 restaurant and bar. This is a trendy restaurant with a relaxed feel. The atmosphere is very easy going. The ceiling is covered in antique chandeliers and they serve your water in a recycled wine bottle. The name is the concept for the restaurant. They have 5 snacks (appetizers), 5 entrees, 5 red and white wines, 5 beers, 5 signature cocktails, and finally, 5 jazz brunch options. Yes, jazz brunch (que ironic jazzy tune here). Today, I had the breakfast burrito. This is a hearty tortilla filled with sausage, bacon, fluffy eggs, onions, and peppers topped with a smooth queso and sweet salsa. You just can’t get flavor like this anywhere else. It was amazing. Along side, my meal was joined by a $2 mimosa. This restaurant just gives good vibes and good food. If you haven’t indulged in the jazz brunch, I recommend you do that ASAP.
Until next time… Cheers!
